Dataset Resources
GIS professionals and academics at East Carolina University understand the need for well organized and accessible geo-referenced imagery. This site and accompanying online tool were developed for this purpose.
The datasets cover a variety of spatial locations, but the majority of data and imagery pertain to Eastern North Carolina. Check back frequently as the amount of cataloged data will be increasing overtime.
Currently Cataloged Data
Note: The dataset contains fictional data for testing and proof of concept purposes. As more data types become available this fictional data will be removed. Fictional data includes the aster, digital elevation models(DEM), Landsat, LIDAR and SAR file types.
GIS professionals at ECU are working on inputting the first data sets into the Imagery Data Clearinghouse and developing the interactive tool to search, sort and request data. The first dataset is NOAA-IOCM data for the northern NC Outer Banks (OBX). This dataset includes Aerial Photographs (RGS and IR) as well as LIDAR (LAS) files. Due to licensing issues this data will not be available for public download.
Future datasets will include Digital Elevation Model's (DEM), Aster imagery, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Landsat Imagery, and more!
